Questions and Answers

by | September 17, 2012

Have you ever wondered about choice to make when a decision
is staring you in the face? How about when you are overwhelmed with decisions
that you need to make? Like, it seems you have more questions than answers?!
That’s how I have been feeling lately and I knew that I
needed answers. I wanted answers…and there is only One Person I know that has
ALL the answers in life.
As I brought these seemingly “huge” questions to God, He
seemed to smile at me and quietly push each one aside. It seemed as though the questions
weren’t as important as something deeper that He wanted me to see that I had
overlooked. What was it?
These were really important questions that I was bringing
before Him, and there was something more important? What was I missing?
As I was reading through different passages of Scripture, I
realized what I had missed as I was focusing on the “answers” to my questions.
Psalm 16:8-9 described what I was missing.
“I
have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore, my
heart is GLAD, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall REST in HOPE.”
My questions and the answers to my questions were before me.
They were my focus and the priority. I wasn’t looking up to the One who had it
all under control! I wasn’t resting in Him.  I was worrying, wondering, and fearing. There
is great joy in knowing the One who has all the answers, but if you take your
eyes off that One Person, you may be overwhelmed by what is taking place around
you!! This requires a child-like faith and trust in God…nothing else!
Verse 11 of Psalm 16 sums it all up with a big promise from
God if I stay in fellowship with Him and turn my eyes to Him.
“Thou wilt show me the path of LIFE: in Thy presence is
fullness of JOY; at Thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”
What an awesome promise!! As I focus upon Him, He WILL show
the path I am to take as I TRUST HIM!! On top of that, I will fullness of JOY!!
Sounds pretty awesome to me, I’m in!  =’)
PS…I was inspired by a friend with these verses, and I
thought they went well on this picture that I took, on our gravel road.
Waiting is an important part of resting in Him…they kinda go
hand-in-hand! As we wait and rest in the Lord, seeking Him, He will do great
things in and through us…for His name sake!
