It’s Broken

by | May 5, 2025

With six kids in the house, “It’s broken” has been said a few times…maybe more. =) No matter what it is, my instinct is usually to try to devise a solution for repairing the item. It’s a natural thing we all want to do. But what happens when something is too broken? Is there such a thing? With God, I am grateful there is not.
Men may deem something too far gone, too irreparable, but God draws near to those who are broken.
“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” – Psalm 34:17
The key to this truth is humility. God delights in lifting those who have humbled themselves. Whether we are broken over a situation, others, or our sin, God desires us to call upon Him, and He longs to show Himself strong on our behalf.
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
What do you need the Lord for today? We are in a dangerous spot when we do not sense and see our need for the Lord. It is often through trials and troubles that we see our need for the Lord most clearly. Whether you are going a valley of hardship or riding high with a mountaintop view, let’s remember our need for Him moment by moment and recognize our broken state without Him.
Be encouraged.
