Where Do I Go?

by | October 9, 2025

The week has just gotten away from me, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to write about till this morning. As I was reading in Psalm 9, verses 9 and 10 spoke loud and clear:

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”

What powerful truths! The LORD is a refuge, literally a fortress on a cliff that is inaccessible to the enemy. A safe place. The word oppressed also means “crushed or afflicted.”

Have you ever had your heart broken? Or received the news that a dear friend has been diagnosed with cancer? We all experience difficulties in our own lives, and we share in the troubles of our brothers and sisters in Christ. But where do we retreat to in these times? Where can we find shelter from the enemy whispering his lies about God’s goodness and faithfulness?

I know of one place.  The Psalmist in Psalm 91 refers to it as “the secret place.” It is the refuge of truth, God’s very Word and His presence that will keep us safe and secure in these times.

The key? We must choose to place our trust and anchor our souls upon Him. When all our feelings tell us so many other things, trust in God’s written Word; it won’t fail, and it won’t let you down.

Where will you go?

Be Encouraged,

Chad
