Psalm 23 is one of those iconic chapters of the Bible that is full of promises. This passage has come to my heart and mind so many times throughout the years. I wanted to share one of the verses in this chapter that has been playing over and over in my mind in light of the arrival of our newest blessing.
Finley Marie was born this past week. Healthy, beautiful, and perfect. The emotions that you feel as you watch your baby being brought into the world are indescribable. Then you hold that little one . . . words fail. You kiss that tiny, velvety being . . . your heart overflows.
Verse 5 & 6 of Psalm 23 state: “. . . thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
Erin and I both can say that our cup is running over with the blessings of the Lord. We are undeserving, yet we get to experience these blessings everyday. Even though little Finley is our fifth baby, the miracle of life never gets old. She is so special. We have fallen in love with her and cant wait to share more of her birth story soon.
Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, look for the blessings that God is pouring out on you and it will do your heart good.
