I love God’s Word. One of the amazing things about it is that you can be reading a passage you have read many times before, or you can be listening to a message you have heard preached before and a simple, yet profound, truth will fill your heart and soul with new freshness as if it was the first time you heard it.
I was listening to a message yesterday and a fresh truth jumped out from Hebrews 11:1–3:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
That simple phrase “through faith we understand” caught my attention. The pastor went on to explain a truth that resonated in my heart. He shared how we all experience moments in our life (most of us daily) where we must choose to trust God by faith and live accordingly. Oftentimes, we don’t understand all of God’s purposes or answers to the “Why?” question at the moment.
The pastor went on to point out that it is critical that we simply walk by faith in those times because it is through our faith that understanding will come. Our job is to walk in simple obedience and child-like faith in what He has called us to do and trust Him that we will understand His perfect plan in His perfect time.
This encouraged my heart and renewed my desire to choose to trust the Lord and walk by faith . . . faith in His great faithfulness!
What do you need to trust God for today?
Be encouraged.
