For God So Loved Me

by | January 2, 2013

I really can’t believe it’s actually 2013! I really can’t! So much has taken place this past year! The miles I have traveled, the people I have spent time with, the places I have been, the memories that I have made, and all of God’s goodness, just overwhelms me! He is really good! He has been so faithful! God has answered so many prayers, given direction, protected me, and given me wisdom at every turn in the journey. He has been there for me every time I needed Him!!
I was asking the Lord what would be a good vision for this year…a goal to strive for, a resolution!
God brought a passage to mind, Luke 6:38:

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
After reading through that passage I wanted more than anything to be a giver this year! I want to be known as a giver! As I thought about it, I realized how many times I chose self over giving to others. I realized I really needed to grow in this area and grow in a heart of genuine love. The essence of genuine love is a heart of giving. Jesus said, in John 3:16, that God so loved the world that He gave!! God gave the greatest gift possible to mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. That gift can be claimed by all!!!
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
I want to be known as a giver. A giver of my time, talents, and resources! God has given me so much! I am soooo grateful! This will be one of my theme verse for this New Year!! I am looking forward to what God has in store for 2013!!

Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year!!!
