Something that Lasts

by | January 29, 2024

I have known the phrase, “Only one life twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last,” by C.T. Studd since I was a little kid. And that saying has stuck with me.
This past week was an incredible opportunity to be at a concert where this very phrase had been lived out in so many people’s lives. I listened to incredible music by The Collingsworth Family and Greater Vision, and I heard the testimonies of extended family members who were living out their lives with this mantra and I was truly inspired.
These people are passionate about getting the gospel out and sharing with countless others the truths of God’s Word through incredible music. In my own heart, I was challenged. I thought of the time that had already flown by and the many missed opportunities. I left with a renewed resolve to focus on those things that last for eternity and strive to make the most impact with the time that I have left.
In the passage Colossians 4:5-6, we are exhorted to
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
Let us all endeavor to make an eternal impact through our actions and words on those around us.
Be encouraged.
