Find Help

by | January 13, 2025

We are already racing into 2025, and yes, we have been trying to catch our breath amidst moving, spending Christmas in the Smoky Mountains, traveling to a Bates’ party, and returning to Florida to unpack. It’s been insane. But for all the craziness around us, we have felt the prayers, experienced the help, and been moved in more ways than one as we witness the love from the people around us. I shared with a friend how we have been blessed by this sense of community and real-time support as we monotonously rolled paint on the wall at the new place. Although we have more technological advancements than ever and more ways of staying “connected” via Facetime, Facebook, and face-your-phone-for-whatever, they still offer the second-best solution for authentic, genuine fellowship. The truth is that we need each other. We need people around us to bear and share our burdens. No amount of money can buy this kind of real friend. Sometimes, it takes some humbling to ask for help…yeah…I hate asking for help. But we all need help with something. As you kick off this year with all your resolutions, no matter how daunting or minute, don’t be afraid to reach out to your real friends and ask for help to hold you to that Bible reading plan, the workout routine, the family goal, the personal discipline. We need the Lord, and we need each other! “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.”  – Galatians 6:2-3
Be encouraged.
