You may think this week’s devotional is coming from a biased point of view, but I have to say that I have the best friend — Erin. 

Because He lives, I have a greater purpose than just living for myself. I can serve those around me and encourage and strengthen others to be all that God intended them to be. 

In Matthew 14, Jesus had just performed the miracle of feeding the 5,000, and then He did something astounding. He sent His disciples into a great storm.

I love older people. They tell it like it is. They are an open book waiting to be read by anyone who will take the time.

Something the Lord has been showing me this week is my need for patience. What does God say about patience? When this question came to my mind, the conviction in my heart grew.

Through these short years, I’ve learned an important truth about love that may sound trite to you. But recognizing this truth about love is humbling and fills my heart with gratitude & awe for my sweet Erin.

It’s been a challenging week for me in more ways than one. I have needed friends to help me through this week, and I am most grateful for the One Who calls me His friend.

I realized that I desperately needed something. I needed an ability that couldn’t be bought with money or bartered for. I needed wisdom — and lots of it.
